We Can Know God Indirectly

We are not in a position to make observations beyond space and time. It's all relative. Our observations are relative in nature. The same is true of God. We humans are within space and time, while the Creator is beyond space and time. If we have the vision that goes beyond space and time, then we can directly observe God's existence. At present, we can know God only indirectly. All knowledge in science is known indirectly, because we cannot reach it directly. The knowledge after Einstein has been attained through indirect means, because we cannot know it directly. The Quran perhaps gives an indication of this: لَقَدْ كُنْتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ هَذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنْكَ غِطَاءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ (50.22) You were heedless of this, but now We have removed your veil, so your sight today is sharp.

Einstein's general theory of relativity says that our knowledge exists within space and time. We don’t know anything beyond space and time. Einstein gave a very simple example which everybody can understand. Suppose that there are double railway tracks on which two trains are running. Both have the same speed, 100 km/hr. Both trains have exactly the same speed. You are sitting in one of the trains. You will feel that the other train is not moving. It is standstill.  When you are sitting in one train, you will feel that the other one isn't moving. It is standstill. Because your speed and the other train's speed are the same. If the trains are moving in opposite directions, you will feel that the other train has double your speed, that is, 200 km/hr. If you are in a helicopter flying high above, you will know the actual speeds of the trains. You will know whether they are moving at 100 or 200 km/hr. There is a difference between looking down from the helicopter and looking out from the train. Our observations lie within space and time. This means that earlier your thinking was restricted to space and time, but now you can go beyond space and time. In the pre-death period, a person lives within space and time. In the post-death period, he goes beyond space and time. He can see everything directly. At present, we can only see things indirectly. If we want to see things directly, we must wait for the post-death period.
